One step at a time

Read the ask and reply together.

A reply can sound sure and still be wrong. First check that it answers the thing you asked.

Then look for details you did not give it. A name, date, claim, or promise may have been made up.

If a word is unclear, ask for a plain version. Clear wording helps you read; it does not prove a fact.

The draft says the faucet has leaked for a month, but I did not say when it started. Remove that claim. Keep the note short.

The first draft added a length of time with no basis. This sample removes it and stays with the reported leak.
