One last small step

Let's make a card to find your way back.

You already did the hard part. You signed up and saved your sign-in facts.

Now we make one tiny map. It fits on a single small card.

The card names two things: your front door, and your four most-used buttons.

Your front door is the one way you go in. One door means you never get lost.

Grab a small card or a clean sticky note. We will fill it in together, line by line.

One rule keeps you safe: never write your password on this card.

Keep the card somewhere private, where other people cannot read it.

The card only shows where the buttons are. It holds no secrets.

If ChatGPT ever asks for your password, stop. That is not normal. Ask a real person you trust.

What goes on the card

Name your front door and four buttons.

At the top of the card, write your one true way in.

If you use an app, name the icon you tap to open it.

If you use a website, write the address you type, like chatgpt.com.

Under that, write these four buttons. You will use them again and again:

Type boxthe long box where you write your message, near the bottom of the screen

Sendthe small arrow, or the Enter key on a computer keyboard

Accountyour name or first letter, usually in a top corner

Sign outtucked under the account button, often near the bottom of that list

Not sure which front door is yours? Use the one you opened today.

Whatever you opened to get here is your real front door. Write that one down.

What the AI sends back

Hello! The box where you type is the long bar near the bottom of the screen. Tap inside it once. A small line will start to blink. That blinking line means it is ready, so you can type your message there.

Marta asked this and wrote on her card, "Type box: long bar at the bottom." Then she asked the same way for Send. You can do this for all four buttons. Ask one short question, then write the answer on your card.

Your card now names your front door and four buttons: type box, send, account, and sign out.
Read the whole card out loud once. Hearing it helps it stick.
From now on, if you ever feel lost, the card brings you right back.
Keep it private, and write no password on it. If ChatGPT asks for your password, stop and ask a real person you trust.
