Welcome

Let's start at the very beginning.

You've probably heard the word “AI” a lot lately. Today we'll meet it together, no tech know-how needed, and nothing to set up yet. Just read along.

By the end of this short lesson, you'll be able to say what AI is in one plain sentence. That's it. We go gently here.

I'm Buddy, and I'll be right beside you the whole way. There are no silly questions here.

The whole idea

AI is short for artificial intelligence. AI is used in many kinds of tools. Here we will use one kind: a chat tool.

You type an ask in plain words. The tool writes a reply. It can help draft a note, make a list, or explain a word.

It is software, not a person. It can sound sure and still be wrong. A reply may take time or fail to load.

We use ChatGPT in this course. It has a free plan with limits. You do not need to pay for these first text tasks.

Start with one small ask. You can pause and read each step at your own pace.
