Getting stuck at the start is normal.

If you have not opened ChatGPT yet, you can start here.

Today we clear the snags that stop people before they even type one word.

The most common snag is simple. You cannot find where to type. Or the sign-in keeps looping back.

A stuck page does not mean you did something wrong.

Use the official site for account help. Never send an AI your password or sign-in code.

Try one step at a time. Stop if a request is unclear.

The first thing to find

Look for the box where you type.

Look for the chat box before you type.

Open chatgpt.com. Look near the middle or bottom for a box where you can type.

ChatGPT may show different words inside that box. Watch for any of these:

Ask anythingtap inside it

Message ChatGPTtap inside it

Enter a prompt heretap inside it

Tap inside the box. A blinking line often shows where your text will go.

See no box? Check whether the page asks you to sign in. Read that step before you continue.

The box can move as the screen changes. Look for its label as well as its place.

If sign-in gets stuck

Use the same sign-in method as before.

A page may ask you to log in before you can chat.

If you have an account, choose Log in. Use the method you used to sign up, such as Google or email.

Do not switch methods just because you use Gmail. It may lead to a separate account.

If the page stays stuck, try reloading it or opening it in another browser.

The real site may ask for a code or another account check. Only enter a code on the sign-in page where you asked for it. Keep it out of chat.
