Ask one clear question

Step 1 of 6

Opening your saved place…

One small start

Ask for one thing at a time.

A question can be short and clear. Say what you want to know, then give any facts the answer needs.

We will use a made-up club notice. You can try every step here without opening ChatGPT.

One question is enough to begin.

Make the ask clear

Name what you want to know.

“Tell me about clubs” could lead to a long answer. “When does this club meet?” asks for one useful detail.

If the answer is in a note, include the part of the note you need. Check for private details before sharing any text.

You can ask for plain words and one short sentence. Then check the reply. A clear question does not make AI right every time.

Try a small ask

Write a question from these facts.

Made-up notice: Book club meets Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Room A. Write an ask to find out where it meets. Include the notice and ask for one short sentence.

Your practice box, just for you. Your draft saves in this browser. This box is not AI. Leave private details out.

Keep Tuesday, 6 p.m. and Room A in the notice you include.

Start with a few words, or look at the example first.
