Save a prompt you can use again

Step 1 of 6

Opening your saved place…

Keep a useful ask

Start with one small card.

A prompt is the request you type to AI. A prompt card keeps that request so you can use it again.

You can write the card in this lesson’s practice box. No new app or live ChatGPT chat is needed.

Keep the full request, not just its title. Use blanks for details that change.

Buddy says

A short card is enough to start.

Three useful parts

Name it. Say when. Keep the ask.

Use a name you will recognise. Add one line about when the card helps. Then write the full prompt.

A blank such as [reason for thanks] shows what to change next time. Read the whole card and leave private details out before saving or sharing.

NameThank-you note

Use whenI want to thank someone.

PromptWrite two warm sentences to thank someone for [reason for thanks]. Add no facts.

A made-up task

Fill a blank without changing the job.

Starting example

Write two warm sentences to thank someone for [reason for thanks]. Add no facts.

For this sample, the reason is “lending me a book.”

Revised request

Write two warm sentences to thank someone for lending me a book. Add no facts.

An example AI reply

Thank you for lending me a book. I appreciate your help!

The blank changed. The job and style stayed the same. This sample reply fits the task. A new reply still needs your own check.

Keep your card

Write all three parts.

Write a name, a “Use when” line and the full prompt. Use the thank-you sample or a small task of your own. Leave out private details. Watch the save status before you leave.

Your practice box, just for you. Your draft saves in this browser. This box is not AI. Leave private details out.

Start with a few words, or look at the example first.
