Let's get your notes open first.

When ChatGPT gives you a great answer, the words you typed are worth keeping. Keeping those words is called saving a prompt. A prompt is just the request you type in.

Open a place you already use for notes. The Notes app on your phone works. So does a blank document on your computer.

You do not need a new app today. Pick something you already know. You cannot break a single thing here. Take your time.

The whole idea

Keep one good prompt, made safe.

You do not need to save every chat. One helpful prompt is enough to start.

Pick a prompt from a safe, everyday task. Here are three kinds that work well:

A short text“a friendly dinner text to a friend”

A short list“a packing list for a day trip”

A small plan“a simple chore plan for the week”

One rule keeps your saved prompt safe: take out anything private. Swap names, dates, addresses, dollar amounts, and account or health details for a blank. A blank is just a word in brackets, like [name] or [day].

And one bigger rule: do not let ChatGPT have the final word on health, money, legal, account, or safety choices. For those, ask a real person you trust.

Name: Dinner Text Helper. Use when: I need a short, friendly dinner text. The blanks let you reuse it any time, with anyone.

See the change? The private bits, the name and the street, became blanks. Then we gave it a plain name and a “Use when” note. Now you can find it again next week.
