Fix one thing to clear it

Choose one part to change.

Use the short sample below, or a message with no private details. You do not need an earlier reply.

Choose one part that is hard to read. It may be a long sentence or an unclear word.

Ask for one change. Then compare the whole reply with the original.

A tool may change parts you wanted to keep. Check its facts, request and conditions.

Leave out private details before sharing text with another site.

One change gives you a clear thing to check.

Turn it into a rule

Tell ChatGPT what to change, and what to keep.

A fix rule is one short line. It tells ChatGPT the one thing to change.

Read your answer, then pick the one rule that matches your problem:

Too long“Make it shorter.”

Too cold“Make it warmer and calmer.”

Unclear“Make it clearer.”

Say what to keep, such as the meaning and any deadline. This guides the tool; it does not guarantee a correct rewrite.

Read the result against the original, including the parts you did not ask to change.

Use a short note or list for practice. For important health, money or legal decisions, ask a qualified person. For account trouble, use the service’s own support.

Buddy says

Say the change in your own words. You do not need a special phrase.

See it work

Change one word and keep the request.

Starting example

Please relocate the bin from the walkway now.

Example message

Replace “relocate” with a plain word. Keep the request and urgency: “Please relocate the bin from the walkway now.” Add no new facts.

An example AI reply

Please move the bin from the walkway now.

“Relocate” became “move.” The bin, walkway and “now” stayed the same. “When you get a chance” would change the urgency, so it would need your choice first.

Your turn, no wrong answers

Draft an ask for one change.

Use the sample bin request, or a short note with no private details. Include the original words and name one change. Say what to keep. The box saves your draft; it does not send it to ChatGPT.

Your practice box, just for you. Your draft saves in this browser. This box is not AI. Leave private details out.

Include the original sentence so the tool has words to work with.

Start with a few words, or look at the example first.
