Prepare for one phone call

A call plan prepares questions, not answers.

Start with why you are calling. Add the questions you need answered. Leave space to write down what the other person says.

Keep unknown hours, fees and rules as questions. A plan does not confirm them or book anything.

Review a real request for private details before sharing it with ChatGPT. You do not need account numbers, a home address or health facts for this sample.

Before a real call, get the number from a source you know is real, such as the shop’s own site or a receipt you trust. Do not dial a number just because an AI reply gives it.

These exercises are for ordinary call preparation. Do not wait on this lesson to seek urgent help.

The plan leaves the shop’s answers open.

Made-up task: Ask a repair shop when you can drop off a lamp. You also want to ask what to bring and whether there is a fee to look at it. None of those answers is known.

Use the three-part plan.

Made-up task: You want to ask whether a library book is ready for pickup and, if so, when to collect it. Neither answer is known. Ask for a plan with Why I am calling, What to ask and What to write down.
