Open it now. On a computer, type chatgpt.com in your web browser. On a phone, tap the ChatGPT app if you have it. The web browser is the program you use to visit websites.

It may ask you to sign in or pick a plan. That is normal. The free plan is all you need. You will not be charged a thing.

Take a slow breath. You cannot break anything here. There is no wrong button to press.

One simple rule keeps you safe. Leave out anything private. When in doubt, leave it out.

Private means facts a stranger should not see. That means real names, your address, account numbers, and health details.

Keep things general instead. Say "my neighbor" or "the office." For money, health, legal, or big choices, ask a real person you trust first.
