Today you do one thing: you check that answer before you trust it. This is the part that keeps you safe.

ChatGPT can sound very sure of itself. But sure is not the same as right.

Sometimes it answers the wrong paper. Sometimes it adds a fact you never gave it. That made-up fact is called a guess.

So you do one quick check. Put your real paper next to the answer. Read both, line by line.

One rule keeps you safe: leave out anything private. No names, no home address, no account or ID numbers.

And keep today small. For taxes, money, legal papers, benefits, medical forms, IDs, deadlines, or anything you sign, ask a real person you trust.

Three things to look for.

When you read an answer from ChatGPT, you look for just three things. Keep it this simple.

First, does it match your paper? Second, did it guess a fact you never gave? Third, does it push you to sign or pay?

Wrong paperIt talks about a school form, not yours

A guessIt says "usually needs proof of address"

A risky pushIt says "submit the form today"

See a guess? Put a small question mark next to it on paper. You will check that one fact with the office that gave you the form.

See a risky push to sign or pay? Turn it into a question for a real person. Never let ChatGPT make that choice for you.
