Shape the piece for its readers

Keep the words clear in the final place.

Put the main point first. Give dates, times and actions their own space. Ask for line breaks when each item should start on a new line.

After making a file or poster, inspect that actual version. Check the text size, contrast and edges. A tidy text reply does not prove a printed sign or image will be readable.

For online sharing, use real text when you can. If you share a flyer as an image, provide the same words as readable text too. Do not make the picture the only way to learn the event details.

If six lines do not fit your real facts, allow more room. A preferred line count must not erase a needed detail.

An image can support the message. Keep it from covering the words, and check whether you have the rights needed to use it.
