Turn words into a picture

AI can make a new picture from a written request. You choose what it should show. The result may miss parts of your request.

Use our made-up room for practice. You do not need an account, an upload or a new AI picture to work through this lesson.

Name the scene and what matters

In ChatGPT, ask in a chat to create an image, or use More then Images. The result can take time. Open a picture to edit it, then describe the change. To keep the file, choose Save. Images also holds your generated pictures. Controls and access can vary.

Start with a simple use and the parts that matter. Say what to show, where it goes and the shape you need. A clear request helps; it does not promise an exact result.

A made-up picture is not proof of a real place or event. Keep private details out of practice. If you later upload a source, check what it shares first.

A picture still needs a check

Made-up task: a wide reading-corner picture for a practice web card. Mayfield prepared the artwork below for this lesson. The example message and reply are a worked sample, not your live chat.

Example message

Make a warm, made-up reading corner. Use a wide 3:2 shape. On one round wooden table, place one closed red book in the centre, one yellow lamp on the left, and one green plant in a blue pot on the right. Put an arched window with green hills behind them. Keep all three table objects in view. No other books or potted plants. No words or people.

An example AI reply

Here is a picture to compare with your brief.

A wide reading corner. A closed blue book sits on a round wooden table. A yellow lamp is on the left. A green plant in a white pot is on the right. An arched window shows green hills. Extra books and a trailing plant fill shelves at far left. A green chair and two framed pictures sit behind the table. No words or people are shown. — Before: a practice picture made for Mayfield. Compare it with the brief. It is not a photo of a real room.

The blue book, white pot and extra books and plant do not match the brief. The reply alone cannot show that the task is done. Use the picture, its description, zoom or help to compare each needed part.

Try it

Try a small step

Write a request for this made-up room. Include the use, shape, objects, colours and places. Then name one mismatch in the shown picture. You can use the sample brief.

Your practice box, just for you. Your draft saves in this browser. This box is not AI. Leave private details out.

Previous twice returns to the picture. Next twice brings you back. This box does not create images.

Start with a few words, or look at the example first.
