Check two kinds of match.

First, check what you heard against the written reply. Did you miss a number or a word such as not? Pause and replay as needed.

Then compare the reply with the original source. It may say the wrong thing very clearly. Check each needed fact, including conditions and missing details.

Use a form you can access: text, your own reading tool, a larger view or someone you trust helping compare. You do not have to prove it with your eyes alone.

For a real action, check an appropriate, current source. Use qualified help for decisions that need it. A friendly voice or a trusted friend is not an expert in every subject.
